The buck was aged by the NYS DEC and turned out to be 3.5 years old and so far it is the best buck of his lifetime.
This buck scored a 126 in the NYS "Big Buck Club" Books. Many points were deducted due to the 8 measureable points on the right side and 5 measureable points on the left side. The outside spread was 24 inches. "Unc" has been hunting hard in the Adirondacks, Catskills and Orange County for many years but this "13 pointer" made the mistake of running past "Unc" within 30 yards during the New York State Catskill's Archery Season in 1978 -- within 5 miles of his home in the Town of Newburgh.
